All prices include VAT. Minimum order £2,500. Sub-base (full dig out) adds £50–£80/m² depending on size and ground conditions.
Larger areas cost more in total but often less per m² — fixed costs spread further.
Resin over solid existing tarmac or concrete saves money. A new sub-base adds £20–30/m².
Poor drainage or soft ground may need extra preparation — we assess this on your free visit.
Standard colours are all the same price. Premium multi-tone blends may add a small premium.
Tight access, lots of curves, edges or awkward shapes add time and cost.
A contrasting colour border or block paving edge adds a premium finish — and a small premium cost.

Resin bound costs a little more than tarmac upfront — but lower maintenance, longer lifespan and no planning hassle often make it better value over 20 years.

"Absolutely fantastic job from start to finish. The team were professional, tidy and completely transformed our old cracked driveway. Couldn't be happier — highly recommend."
"Got three quotes and Resinate came in competitively and were by far the most professional. Turned up when they said, kept the place clean and the finish is stunning. Neighbours keep asking who did it."
"Had our driveway, side path and back patio all done at the same time. No mess, no fuss and it looks incredible. Already had two neighbours ask for their number. Use them — you won't regret it."

The questions we get asked most often — answered honestly.
It depends on whether you need an overlay or a full dig out — that's the biggest factor in price. Overlay (laid over existing solid tarmac or concrete): minimum £2,500, typically £3,000–£3,600 for a 2-car driveway (~40m²) and ~£5,400 for a 3-car driveway (~60m²). Full dig out (new sub-base required): adds £50–£80/m² — so a 40m² full dig out runs £6,000–£7,800 and a 60m² job £10,000–£11,000, all including VAT. Large areas (300m²+) are priced at £65/m² for overlay. Use our cost calculator for a ballpark, or request a free site visit for your exact price.
Resin bound mixes aggregate stone fully into the resin before laying — the stones are encapsulated in a smooth, permeable, loose-stone-free surface. Resin bonded applies resin first and scatters stone on top — stones can shed over time. We install resin bound only. It's the superior, longer-lasting, fully permeable system.
Yes — and this is one of resin bound's biggest cost advantages. If your existing surface is structurally sound (no major cracking or movement), we apply resin bound directly on top, saving significant cost and disruption compared to a full dig-out. We'll assess the base condition on your free site visit.
In most cases, no. Resin bound surfaces are fully permeable — rainwater drains through the surface naturally. This makes them SuDS-compliant and exempt from planning permission under permitted development rules. Impermeable surfaces like standard tarmac and concrete do require permission in many cases.
A professionally installed resin bound driveway typically lasts 20–25 years with minimal maintenance. The key factors are sub-base quality, the resin system used, and proper installation technique — which is why choosing an experienced specialist matters.
No — the aggregate stone surface provides excellent grip in all weather conditions, making resin bound safer than tarmac, smooth concrete and many block paving finishes. The texture naturally channels water away and remains grippy even in wet conditions.
Most residential driveways are completed in 1–2 days. You can walk on the surface within 24 hours and drive on it within 48–72 hours. If new groundworks or a full sub-base are needed, allow an extra day. We give you a clear timeline in your written quote.
We offer 20+ aggregate colours and blends — from warm buffs and creams to silver grey, charcoal, black, autumn blends, blue slate and more. You can also add a contrasting border colour. We bring physical colour chips to your site visit so you can see how each looks in natural light. See the colour guide above.
Very little — that's a key reason homeowners choose it. Occasional rinsing with a garden hose or a light pressure wash keeps it looking great. No sealing, no weed treatment, no resanding joints. Avoid sustained high-pressure jet washing directly on the surface as it can dislodge aggregate over time.
Yes — resin bound handles slopes well. For steeper gradients we use a slightly coarser aggregate to maximise grip. We assess gradients on your free site visit and advise if any special measures are needed.
Per m², resin bound and block paving are often comparable (both typically £50–£90/m²). However, resin bound has significantly lower ongoing maintenance costs — no weeding joints, no re-sanding, no lifting and relaying sections. Over a 20-year lifespan, resin typically works out better value.
A resin bound surface on a proper sub-base is very resistant to cracking. Problems usually occur when (a) the sub-base moves due to poor preparation, (b) tree roots are present, or (c) a low-quality resin system is used. We always assess the base condition on site before quoting — this is exactly why we don't skip the site visit.
